The design phase is probably the most important asspect to the overall success of any project. The more time spent at this stage in the project to identify the complete requirements of a system, before putting together a detailed proposal to implement a solution will determine if the finished system meets all of the desired parameters enisaged at the start of the project.
User Requirement specification (URS)
The development of a clear scope or detailed user requirement speciation (URS) at the start of the project then helps to avoid any misunderstanding and misinterpretation of the systems requirements. However, often a clear scope or URS is not available and the client does not have the time or the resources available to produce one. Our engineers can assist in producing the URS to define a clear scope and ensure that the end system will meet the expected criteria.
Functional design specification (FDS)
A detailed function design specification (FDS) will then be generated which are easy to understand and will match the completed software. Our functional design specifications are very clear, concise documents which allow personnel from every engineering background to understand and contribute at this design phase and captures any obvious omissions. All FDS docuements are issued to our clients for their approval prior to the development phase. Once the FDS has been appoved, then the development phase can start.
A final updated documentation is supplied to our client’s on handover and due to the intrinsic links with the software that we produce, form an invaluable trouble-shooting tool for maintenance and support staff.
